Story County authorities are warning residents to keep an eye on their pets.
The county animal control says it has received several calls about stolen or disappearing dogs.
Officials say the suspects are targeting border collies, heelers and Australian shepherds.
Some people who have missing pets have recalled white vans in their area.
Authorities are urging pet owners to keep an eye out for anything and to call animal control or law enforcement if you see anything suspicious.
